As its Director from 2016-until July 2025, the Office for Seniors achieved important milestones under Diane’s leadership, including developing and implementing the Better Later Life – He Oranga Kaumātua strategy. Diane’s work was recognised in 2025 with her appointment as a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for her advocacy, cross-agency collaboration and commitment to ensuring older people's voices are heard.
